Frequently Asked Questions
Is Knot & Purl a class or workshop studio?
Not exactly. While we do offer occasional workshops and special experiences, the heart of Knot & Purl is open crafting — flexible, come-and-go creating during regular studio hours. You choose a project, work at your own pace, and enjoy the process without a formal class structure.
Do I need to be “crafty” or have experience?
Not at all. Many of our guests don’t consider themselves crafty when they arrive. Our team is always available to help you get started, answer questions, or offer guidance if you want it — no experience required.
Is Knot & Purl just for kids?
No. Knot & Purl is designed for adults, kids, and families. Some people visit with children, others come on their own or with friends, and many adults discover us through private events or evening experiences.
Can adults come on their own?
Absolutely. Adults are welcome to come solo, meet friends here, or join a workshop or guided experience. Many guests enjoy open crafting as a creative break or quiet reset.
How does open crafting work?
During open crafting hours, you can drop in, choose a project, and create at your own pace. Pricing varies by project and materials are included. There’s no set start time and no requirement to stay for a specific length of time.
What’s the difference between open crafting and workshops?
Open crafting is flexible and unstructured, while workshops and special experiences are ticketed events with a specific theme, format, or instructor. Workshops are offered occasionally and change month to month.
Do you host private events?
Yes. We host private creative events for adults, kids, and families — including birthdays, girls’ nights, team outings, and group gatherings. Most adult events take place in the evening, after public hours.
What if I’m not sure what to book?
That’s completely okay. Many people start with open crafting to get a feel for the studio. If you’re planning a private event or considering a workshop, we’re always happy to help you decide what might be the best fit.
