Like many of you, I’ve been shaken by what’s happening in our digital culture—especially after reading The Anxious Generation by Jonathan Haidt. I don’t have children of my own, but I care deeply about the ones who come through my studio doors, and I see what families are up against. The stress, the disconnection, the constant hum of distraction.
That’s where The Joy is in the Making was born—from a simple but urgent idea:
We need to make more time for making.
Crafting offers a powerful antidote. It’s hands-on, real-world, and full of wonder. It brings people together across generations. It slows us down just enough to reconnect—with ourselves, our families, our creativity, and our joy.
To bring this message to life, we created a line of witty, colorful sayings that will appear on bumper magnets, stickers, totes and more that champion the cause. You’ll see them around town, in the studio, and maybe even on your neighbor’s minivan. They’re meant to make you smile—and maybe even inspire you to put your phone down and pick up a paintbrush.
